Terms of Service

1. What KnownPros is

KnownPros is a directory and verification platform that helps users find local service businesses and view the status of credentials those businesses have submitted. KnownPros is not a contractor, does not perform services, and is not a party to any agreement between users and businesses.

2. No guarantee of work quality

Verification badges reflect documents and records available to us at the time of review. They are not a guarantee of work quality, and document status may change after review. Users must independently confirm license and insurance status before hiring. KnownPros is not responsible for work performed by third-party businesses.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for your account credentials and for the accuracy of information you submit. Business owners must have authority to claim and manage the profiles they control. We may suspend accounts that submit false information or abuse the platform.

4. Business listings and claims

Unclaimed profiles may be created from public records and other lawful sources. Owners may claim their profile through our verification process. We may approve, reject, edit, hide, or remove listings at our discretion to maintain directory quality.

5. Reviews and user content

Reviews, when available, are user-submitted and reflect the reviewer's opinion, not ours. You grant us a license to display content you submit. We may moderate or remove content that is unlawful, deceptive, or abusive.

6. Acceptable use

No scraping, automated bulk access, misrepresentation of ownership, fake reviews, or use of the platform to harass businesses or users.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The platform is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, KnownPros disclaims all warranties and is not liable for damages arising from work performed by listed businesses, reliance on verification status, or use of the platform.

8. Copyright complaints (DMCA)

If you believe content on the platform infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@knownpros.com with the subject "DMCA" including: identification of the work, the URL of the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act. We review notices promptly and remove infringing material where appropriate.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.
